Flexible and Family Friendly

Committed to building a flexible workplace

Meeting you where you are

We know that not everyone is looking for a full-time role. We also know that some people want to work from home, while others want to work in an office. That’s all OK with us. Our Flexible and Smart Working principles empower our people to work smarter and bring their best to their roles.

To demonstrate our commitment to creating a flexible working culture, we were one of the first companies to sign up to the Association of British Insurers’ Making Flexible Work charter. This demonstrates we are open to a conversation around flexibility for all our vacancies.

Work, your way

We recognise that the last few years have changed the way we work forever. People value the ability to work more flexibly, have become accustomed to homeworking, and enjoy the benefits of having flexibility within the working day to meet lifestyle needs.

So we embraced it, reinforcing our commitment to creating a flexible working culture by introducing Smart Working. This approach complements the formal Flexible Working arrangements we already have in place while enabling you to balance personal and professional needs.

Flexible working

We embrace discussions around formal Flexible Working arrangements, such as part-time hours, job sharing, or permanent home-working arrangements.

Formal arrangements allow you to make a permanent change to the way you work and are captured in your contract. If these are options you want to explore, please feel free to discuss them during the application and interview process.

Smart Working

Through Smart Working, we empower our people with the informal flexibility to manage their work, while balancing other aspects of their lives and wellbeing.

This means giving you flexibility over your location of work (as long as this is in the UK) and flexibility within the working day to support different ad-hoc lifestyle events, such as attending a school play, taking a pet to the vet, or something else.

Family Friendly

Supporting our colleagues at key points in their lives is a priority for us. This might be paid time off for a new addition to the family, or flexibility to manage childcare commitments, or paid leave for caring responsibilities. You can read more about our family friendly policies here.

We're always human

Our flexible working practices are underpinned by our human spirit and the relationships we build with each other at work. We trust each other, talk to each other, and take responsibility for doing the right thing.
All of our roles are advertised on a Full time, Part time or on a Job Share basis. This can be discussed during the application process or when you are in role.
Around 21% of our people work part time, including senior roles.
Our people tell us they love the flexibility they have at work.

We’re not the only employer to provide flexibility, but here’s why we do it well...
